Sultan's poised to disappoint Posted By: Dick Irvin Wednesday, January 10, 2007
Once again the perennial underachievers are looking tough heading into the stretch run of the season. Once again no one will be surprised when they go on their annual 15 game losing streak. Some positives this year, goalie G. Langridge has amassed a lot of points (mostly due to his fear of being replaced at any time. The guy has actually disconnected his e-mail and his neighbors in hopes that the "Message of Doom" won't reach him.), team rookie Kindlein has surpassed all expectations and even rejuvinated the career of the turtle speeded Johnson. Negatives are the same as every year. The defenseman have 80 points and are -64 (mostly #21's responsibility), only one or two forwards can score in a night, goaltending is suspect and Barr.
Fans are reminded to not buy play-off tickets to save the inevitable anger and frustration from watching this team choke. It is interesting to note that with two forwards being sent on a conditioning stint for a few games the team looked better than they did all year.
